A cold mist.

July 8.

This morning there is a cold mist, which soon becomes rain, - at 2.30 P.M. The thermometer is at 66°, and some sit by fires.

H. D. Thoreau, Journal, July 8, 1860

The thermometer is at 66°, and some sit by fires.
See July 4, 1857(“[F]or nearly a week many people have sat by a fire.”)
