What a man can know

An indefinite
sense of glory and grandeur
of the universe.

A novel surprise
that all that he knew before
is insufficient.

A revelation
like sun lighting up the mist --
a man can know this.

Yet man cannot know,
cannot look serenely in
the face of the sun.

The week ahead in Henry’s journal
A journal, a book that shall contain a record of all your joy.
"A stone fruit. Each one yields me a thought." ~ H. D. Thoreau, March 28, 1859

I sit on this rock
wrestling with the melody
that possesses me.
