A Book of the Seasons: January 20.

January 20.

To see the sun rise
or go down every day
full of news to me.
January 20, 1852

It requires more
than a day's devotion to
know and to possess

the wealth of a day,
to see sunrise and sunset
full of news to me.

The green of the ice
begins to be visible
just before sunset.

A journal, a book that shall contain a record of all your joy.
"A stone fruit. Each one yields me a thought." ~ H. D. Thoreau, March 28, 1859

I sit on this rock
wrestling with the melody
that possesses me.
