A Book of the Seasons: February 9.

February 9.

Though days are longer
cold sets in ever stronger.
It is midwinter.

 Peculiar softness
and luminousness in the
air this morning.

Such warm sunlit air
as we are wont to hear the
first bluebird's warble.

the imprint of bird wings– an

Bright lichens in shade

hiding the barred owl unseen

A journal, a book that shall contain a record of all your joy.

wrestling with the melody
that possesses me.
