A true April rain

April 16.

Rather warm.

In afternoon a true April rain, dripping and soaking into the earth and heard on the roof, which continuing, in the night it is very dark.  This is owing to both the absence of the moon and the presence of the clouds.

H. D. Thoreau, Journal, April 16, 1860

A true April rain. See April 6, 1860 ("Rainy, more or less, — April weather."); April 9, 1860 ("April 8 and 9. More or less rainy."); May 19, 1860 ("The last rain was April 16th")

A journal, a book that shall contain a record of all your joy.

I sit on this rock
wrestling with the melody
that possesses me.
